Journal ÖZV
Always different - since 1895: the Journal / Österreichische Zeitschrift für Volkskunde (ÖZV) serves as a platform for subject-specific discussions, theoretical debates and problems of cultural-historical museology. It informs about important events and new publications in the field.
The ÖZV serves the scientific discussion of current topics and issues in folklore / European ethnology / cultural anthropology / empirical cultural studies. Contemporary everyday cultures and their social dynamics are as much in focus as their historical development. In addition, the journal aims to be a platform for subject-specific discussions, theoretical debates and problems of cultural-historical museology as well as to inform about important events and new publications in the field.The Österreichische Zeitschrift für Volkskunde (ÖZV) has been in existence since 1895, with an interruption from 1944-1946, after which it appeared quarterly, since 1946 as the "Neue Serie" (New Series). Since 2012, the journal has been published in two issues with about 500 pages per year. The ÖZV is available online about six months after publication.
For the scientific papers, the ÖZV practices a peer review process (double-blind), for which external reviewers are consulted.
