VISITOR INFORMATION
Please note that due to the forthcoming general renovation no more ethnological objects are on display. The display collection has been completely dismantled and moved to the depot.
From January to September 2024, a wide-ranging programme entitled before it gets better ... will take place.
Programme
Numerous events and guided tours take place before the general renovation. Admission free unless otherwise stated. The museum, SchönDing Shop and Hildebrandt Café are open until September 29. In October, the inner courtyard and the former air raid shelter in Schönbornpark will be open to the public as part of events.
During the closure of the building in Laudongasse due to construction work, the Volkskundemuseum Wien is moving its activities to the Otto Wagner Areal (OWA). Office space will be available in Pavilion 1 on Baumgartner Höhe from October 2024. From spring 2025, events are planned as part of a content-related program.
